About Liz

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here!

I have loved food & cooking for as long as I can remember.

During my early years of marriage in New York City, I became so passionate about cooking that I decided to enroll in the French Culinary Institute to, in the words of Julia Childs, “Master the Art of French Cooking.” Of course, I had to eat all my new culinary creations and before I knew it I had gained 25 pounds. Thus, began a series of yo-yo diets, every time losing the weight and eventually gaining it back again.

Many years and many diets later, I received two life-changing diagnoses at the age of 50: I had breast cancer and autoimmune thyroid disease. Suddenly learning to nourish my body with the right foods to help me overcome my health challenges became much more important than fitting into my skinny jeans. I wanted to learn about the science of nutrition and use my love of food to promote better health, beginning with my own!
With this in mind, I applied to graduate school and began my journey toward becoming a nutritionist and healing both my body and my relationship to food!

Today, I am a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN). Through my education and experience, I have gained valuable knowledge of how food can help to both prevent and heal us from disease. It is my passion to share this knowledge with others just like you and to help you achieve your health goals too!

I want you to know that you are not alone in your journey towards better health. As your nutritionist, I will listen to your concerns, understand your unique situation, and guide you on a path towards becoming a healthier version of yourself.
